Occupation: ICT Home town: near Amsterdam Location: The Netherlands Age: 41 MORE ABOUT ME... Interests: Computer technology, philosophy, spirituality, raw food Favorite movies: Avatar (close to perfect) Favorite TV shows: ST: TNG (before Avatar...) My hero(es): James Cameron, Vladimir Megre Since 2005, when I first read the dutch translation of the book Anastasia, I am a great fan of the books of the Russian writer Vladimir Megre (The ringing cedars series). Here is a link to the first book in an old English translation. For those who only know the movie Avatar, you can consider the books as a manual for turning our and other planets into something like Pandora or even better, where the strongest tools are our thoughts, imagination and aspirations. For me these books and Avatar seem to breathe the same philosophy and evoke the same unusual feelings in me. In comparing them, I hope to better understand their meaning. To better explain what these books are about, I have collected several chapters that have themes that also appear in Avatar. "Who raises our children?" (Themes: There's nothing that we have that they want & Tsaheylu - mated for life) http://www.ringingcedars.com/materials/book-6-chapter-1.pdf "A bird for discovering one's soul." (Theme: First flight; pages 135 - 144) http://books.google.com/books?id=Vv5TCqgnJIsC&pg=PA135&lpg=PA135 http://books.google.com/books?id=Vv5TCqgnJIsC&pg=PA144&lpg=PA144 "Conversation with my son" (Themes: Think fast! & your imagination creating a reality; pages 36 - 88). http://books.google.com/books?id=iIrsjPO8KbcC&pg=PA36&lpg=PA36 "A security zone of the future."
