"I'm glad I found this thread. Makes me feel a little more comfortable feeling the way I do. I have seen the movie three times and may see it a fourth. I too have felt a feeling of a sorrow after seeing this movie. It has lingered for days. I almost feel out of touch with some of the people around me. My girlfriend liked the movie but does not feel the same way as I do. While I understand that Pandora doesn't exist (that we know of) I can't help but compare it to Earth as well as humans and their relationship with the Earth. Especially after seeing this movie, I have grown critical of the attitudes of people running in this rat race we call life who constantly drift further and further from our original relationship with this Earth. But I have to give myself a heavy dose of reality and just use the feelings this movie gave me to be a better, stronger person. and I have taken many more walks in the woods lately, so thats cool. "

I saw the film 2 years ago and simply stated my life changed, while I never connected to fantasy aspects of the film its mirror connections to the real world issues where very strong and even today I simply dont look at day to day life and the natural world in the same light out of intrest I decided to research Avatars connections and found just how much work went into the films spiritual and cultural links running under avatars fantasy shell they are very well researched and presented Simply stated "Avatar is a Mirror" look at at ourselves. and its not suprising many did not like what they saw.

I would like the homepage to feature content that a new user would see as "directly related to avatars story" you claim your artwork is orignal yet what I see is a background image taken from film artwork with your photo layered on top , To stay true with the film it has to be known that humans simply cant breath the air on pandora without a breathing mask this is part of the pandorapedia , I also wanted to update the links and provide more info that users would find educational, and intresting like a better history of the actors who stared in the film and side links on James Camerons reasons for
creating the film in the first place , links on how people relate to the films story and in a second seprate section how Avatar and real world issues mesh.With Avatar 2 being released in 2014 any new info related to the upcoming film I would also provide new news that would keep people intrested, I have also created images using photoshop relation to avatar for example to create a Na'vi version of my face etc while intresting I feel that putting them on the homepage would not be in spirit of what James camerons story represented as I would be calling atension to myself in a way that is not in spirit with the films story as for an art contest that sounds like a great idea but I would not want to be the one judging it. we have so much competion in our sociaty today and even the losers art is often quite creative , If you want to manage the homepage please fix the page mesh
so that things stack propery the wetpaint toolset is very clunky with this issue and is a struggle to use. who is dispatch123 ?

While the hype for Avatar has mosly passed , people still relate quite strongly to many of the issues addressed in the film and as we all know there are plenty of very real global issues that mirror Avatars story , Avatar is one of a few rare films that has spawned real world change and many people comit on how strongly it has made them "question" our direction in the world, In a age where negitivity drives the everyday news where our children are taught to "fear" strangers, seeing positive change is very important, The story telling tools the film uses (using a fantasy example to put us in the shoes of "another" and, the fact the "another" is a race we cant slap a label on from past history is also a plus. To view ourselves from that viewpoint and to directly see the""Mechanism" of war in action, the fact the film takes place in a future time period also helps as we cant label it an event from the past )This can be a very powerfull tool for change in the world today. to say these tools are important is an understatment and understanding how they work having seen first hand the results of ego and greed on todays world (we work with refuges) is one reason I have so much respect for what James Cameron is trying to do.

I don't know that how many times i have seen that movie. I just love that movie. You can say i am addicted to that movie. Whenever i want to watch i just download avatar movie. And i would say James Cameron is the one of the best Director of Hollywood. So the guys who wants to watch can download anytime Avatar movie from (getmovieset.com)

"I'm kind of torn here, I liked the extended version and the extra scenes were great but I almost feel like I'm being "unfaithfull" to the original... I watched the original release 3 or 4 times before I watched the re-release & I just got my Collectors edition. I had the original plot line fairly well memorized so it was somewhat disconcerting watching the extended version. Similar to if a songwriter added an extra verse to a well known song. (can you imagine the beatles adding an exta verse to "Let it Be"?). In some ways the emotions I experienced watching Avatar for the first time will always be tied to the original release. That being said the Collectors edition has a lot of interesting material on it.
So is a movie release, a re-release with extra footage, DVD/Bluray release, now a collectors edition release is this going to be SOP (standard operating proceedure) on the sequels? Seems like J.C. could be accused of abusing his fan base a little.. I assume the sequels will run longer now that he knows there is an audience for it. I hope he doesn't fall into the trap of over explaning the plot, that could be counter productive. I doubt I will buy the first release of the sequel DVD if there is going to be another "extended version" out a few months later. Of course there will be the inevitable super extended trilogy disc set after the 3rd movie... "

I can't wait for the sequels, the next DVD's, the extended films and dvd's and the super deluxe collectors set. Bring them all on, I'll buy in. It's a rush for me anytime in any form.

Yes it is getting hard to find the figures and toys, in Australia the only place that had them is a dept. store called Big W, I think it is the same as wallmart in the states, all they got were the small 3 3/4" action figures, but none of the creatures or veheacles, I have had to get most of them on EBAY (AND COST ME A SMALL FORTUNE) but it is worth it, let me know how your collection is going, cherrs from Andrew from the land down under.
