From what we know about Avatar 2 we know it will envolve in some way the oceans on pandora but this does not mean that it will be an underwater film as a whole We know filming has been delayed by the earthquake activity and we know James Cameron is developing a Sub to film in one of deapest locations on earth and that film taken from the depths will in some way be used in the film and that many of the actors in the first film will return,

From the imagination of James Cameron. He made them look like humans, laugh like humans, etc, so we could relate to them and so human actors could portray them. But looking at them from inside the universe of Avatar, at least some humans would have noticed:
On a world where land vertebrates have six limbs and breath mostly through vents in their chests, the Na'vi have only four limbs and breath mostly through their noses. The Na'vi smile. This is something unique to humans on Earth; none of the other living primates actually smile (Chimpanzees who look like they're smiling are probably showing their teeth in a threat display!) The Avatar program succeeded, at least on a technical level. Why was it possible to make viable hybrids mixing human and alien DNA? FERTILE hybrids (made clear from one of the cut scenes.) All this could lead up to, say, the discovery that the Na'vi themselves were genetically engineered a long time ago from Earth-humans to a form that could thrive on Pandora.

I'm starting this thread for the deleted scenes you can find on the Collector's Edition DVD and Blu-ray sets. Most of these scenes conform to the published script, but there are differences. All of them have been shot with actors. Many of them lack some or all the layers of special effects, although there are also some completely live-action scenes.
I invite you to comment about these scenes. Which ones would you most like to be finished and edited into a future release? Why do you think they were left out? And, while you're at it, is there any scene in the most extended version that you think could be better left out, or trimmed a bit? I'm sure most of you with an opinion would most want the Dream Hunt scene restored where Jake meets his spirit animal (Toruk, naturally) and has a vision of the blasted landscape that will become real all too soon. That's number two on my list. Number one is the scene where Max hijacks a Slash Cutter and gives the middle-finger salute to Selfridge just before he chops into the control tower.

I think the most obvious hook for a sequel is: Who shot Tommy? And why?
Let's see...At almost the last minute, Tommy Sully get's killed, apparently a mugging. And he just happens to have an identical twin brother who's a veteran Marine, a perfect candidate to provide a usable agent instead of yet another tree-hugging, profit-lowering, bleeding-heart-liberal scientist. Well, nothing suspicious about that, is there? I mean, it couldn't be planned, could it? Just the agent Quaritch needs to get intel in time to open up the Hometree Lode for RDA? And the Government(s) couldn't be behind it, even if it would justify a real war with those Na'vi savages out there on the new frontier? It couldn't be that the powers that be on what's left of Earth are thinking about re-locating, and need to solve the Na'vi problem first?

Although the love theme of Avatar revolved directly around Jake and Neytiri, there may have also been another much lower-profile romance going on between some of the other main characters. I took a look at the complete Avatar script by James Cameron online. It includes deleted scenes and a few edited lines. For instance, in the scene when Trudy frees Jake, Grace, and Norm, she plants a kiss on Norm as he runs out of the cell. Then Norm tells her "Baby, you rock." Also, in the original script for the epic battle, Trudy sacrifices herself by making a kamikaze run at Quaritch's warship to prevent it from reaching the Tree of Souls. As Norm watches from the jungle below, he shouts "No!" Trudy's last words before the collision are "Norm, I love you." I know this story may not seem that important but it may still be something of interest to those who want to explore more in depth of the other characters.

The Na'vi may have defeated a few hundred Sky People on the ground or not that far above it, but what comes next? RDA could simply nuke the planet, or, if they wanted a non-radioactive Pandora, steer a comet or asteroid into it. They could drop tailored viruses or bacteria. If they can manage human-Na'vi hybrids, biological warfare should be child's play.
Say, maybe Cyberdyne will buy out RDA and send an army of Terminator units to Pandora, sheathed in avatar-type bodies, including one with a certain resemblance to a certain California governor...

We are given several clues about the extent of Ewya's power:
It runs throughout the planet, Ewya has been shown to be sentient...and interactive. [RDA should've been negotiating with Ewya for mining priviledges, since Ewya is the most advanced sentient being on the planet...but they screwed the pooch there.] One could even speculate that all the Life Forms on Pandora are Ewya's Avatars....with the Na'vi being the top, most sentient life forms, able to link with Ewya and the other life forms. The big Blue Planet is also intriguing. Why put that there?....Ever present, same color as Ewya's tenacles, and the Na'vi. Is Ewya a pure-energy life form of the Blue Planet? Will Jakesully be able to access Ewya's Power to fend off any future aggression from Earth, or from other aggressive life forms from other planets? Will Ewya create new ways for the Na'vi to defend Pandora? New armor, new weapons....a massive blue power beam that can be focused on targets in orbit? What happened in the past when TorukMacto was brought forth before?...Has Ewya had to defend the planet before? If 'unobtainium' is so valuable...it presents a reason for future attempts to obtain it. These clues are there. It will be interesting to see how Cameron develops them.

okay, I read that the maker of Avatar, wants to make it a trilogy! But, he needs ideas. Then it hit me!
Jake Sully was a human, turned into the Na'vi to help save the one he loves. Well, what if the humans came back, wanting to buy or ask for land to learn how to live there? And what if half of the tribes say yes, but half don't? What will happen? Think about it! The tribes raging wars while Jake is trying to make peace with Naytiri by his side!

Avatar is Dances with wolves with giant blue people instead of American Indians.
Main character Jake bumps into & falls in love with an English speaking blue indigenous female Main character Kevin Costner bumps into & falls in love with English speaking squaw Both characters have a moral dilemma & side with there supposed enemies, after deciding their original intentions were misguided. In the end both characters decide to stay with their Indigenous peoples and live their way of life

This thought just recently crossed my mind. When Jake and Neytiri have a child, shouldn't its name have a great significance in the story? I've been thinking, if they have a son, he could possibly be named after Jake's brother, Tommy. If they have a daughter, they might name her after Neytiri's sister, Sylwanin. Both of them were gunned down in cold blood. I would like to think that Jake and Neytiri would name their children after their own siblings in honor of their memories. Of course, this is just a theory. Does anyone else have any ideas?

What were some of your most memorable moments in Avatar. The movie its self was a memorable moment. But some parts i would like to talk about tho. Like the part where he is learning the way of Omaticaya people, learning how they bond with Eywa and the creatures. Another moment is when he is climbing up the Hallelujah Mountains and has to bond with a banshee or the Na'vi name of them ikran, and after he bonds with them he goes and fly's with Neytiri and the others, that moment is one of the most beautiful moments in the movie. Another moment which is not so good is when home tree was being destroyed... That moment made me so sad and so angry at the same time. To see home tree was destroyed... I felt almost the exact same way as the Omaticaya people felt. Another moment is when they are singing by the Sacred tree of Eywa, when they sing it was so beautiful to here that, that i closed my eyes and felt like i was there. One of the greatest moments is when he gets all the clans of Pandora to help fight with him. An yet but not least is the moment where Jake Sully becomes One of the People at the end and Becomes a Na'va for real. Well thats all the moments i can say for now. But i want to know what everyone Else's moments were in the movie. So speak out.... For the Na'vi and for Eywa!!!!!

This gave me plenty of headaches mulling over what he actually meant, and I'd like to know how you guys interpreted Jake's words here, right after he 'mated' with Neytiri.
I think he was in a state of "This can't be real. This can't be real." but why does he sound regretful, or does he?

I can't get out of my head the saying "You cannot fill a cup that is full". This was said by Neytiri of the skywalkers..........I can't get this out of my mind. It is so profound.

Previous trilogies like Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and The Matrix were similar by maintaining the same cast of main characters. However with Avatar, this will not be the case. By the end of the film, most of the main characters were dead. Besides Jake and Neytiri, the only other surviving characters with a significant role were Norm (whose Avatar died) and Mo'at. This will lead to an interesting follow-up story. First of all, this is a lot more realistic because in real-life you can't expect all the heroes to survive. Second, this will make the sequels much more surprising and unpredictable. And finally, the drama will be escalated to greater heights. I'll be greatly anticipating Avatar 2, although I know it will be a long wait. I also know Avatar 2 has great potential for topping the first movie because many people will be anxious to know what happens next. Of course, this is also the reason why so many of us are posting all these blogs.

Only four words. But that can be enough to restore hope to a grief-stricken tribe and jumpstart a massive revolution. Many leaders have inspired their people with words like these. But to hear them come from a foreigner-gone-native? This just comes to show you how committed Jake was to his newly adopted tribe. Who else felt a surge of overwhelming inspiration after hearing Jake's speech? Did it also make you think about the occurrences and non-occurrences of our own world? What if all the Native American tribes had chosen to settle their differences and join together to save their land? How different would our world be today? We can all absorb this message of unison and peace as a step toward a brighter tomorrow and a world more reminiscent of Pandora.

James Cameron has confirmed that Avatar will become a trilogy. In the sequels we will be shown at least a glimpse of the life on the other moons and the planet Polyphemus. But what kind of alien species should we expect? Peaceful or hostile? The Avatar movie never mentioned any previous visitors before the humans arrived. However, this possibility was never denied either. Besides, Neytiri mentioned to Jake that Toruk had been tamed five times in the past. This means there had already been five Times of Great Sorrow when all the Na'vi clans joined together. Who were they fighting?
These are the questions that should be answered in the sequels.
