it is a very good point i have also wondered about it to. however i have come to the conclusion that by teaching jake their ways they learn his ways just by the way he learns. olo'eyktan could also have meant by studying him they were going to teach him if you see what i mean it is quite hard to put it in words but i hope u see what i meant.
hope this helps. :)

Once again I have a question concerning the plot, and therefore thought it might be appropriate to start a thread for such issues. So my newest question is: the Na'vi take the unprecedented step of allowing Jake to learn their customs and ways, because as the olo'eyktan says, he is the first warrior of the "sky people" they have met personally, or rather, in a proximate, face-to-face fashion. That implies that THEY want to learn from HIM, and yet there is very little evidence of this, or what there is appears not to be the goal, but only a side-benefit from their interaction with him, and it is primarily Neytiri who learns new information about humans. But if the Na'vi take Jake into their world because he is the first of the human warriors with whom they have intimate contact, why then only teach him their ways and make no apparent effort to learn his? I'd really be grateful for any thoughts on this matter.

Spoiler alert: The movie Avatar is about the war in Iraq and how the US steal oil from mid-eastern countries. It is clearly written in the script to mimic real life. The sheeple are unaware of this and fill their heads with its propaganda.

Hi to all of the people out there who would also rather live on Pandora (provided that there'd be no chats with a Thanator), :-)
The last time I saw the film (number 5 so far), it occurred to me at the end that a number of the humans (I'm thinking especially of Max) don't have avatars, but are in human form and wearing gas masks, so here's my banal and literal-minded question: How can they survive on Pandora? Won't they run out of oxygen sooner or later?

Hey guys. Now I've seen many movies. Many with amazing CG, and such. Amazing captivating stories, among other things. But this movie has become more then anything I have ever wished to see, or seen. What I realize is that this movie has probably set the bar for ALL movies yet to come. From the love story, to the amazingly dynamic facial expressions, to the gorgeous forest. All I have to say about this movie is good things. There is an uncountable amount of symbolic moments in this movie. If you do your best to understand, you can see quite a bit. The biggest one that hit me was the Native American situation I saw. If you try to understand, you see it's almost exactly what settlers did to the Native Americans, but in the movie, it was a GOOD ending.. The desecration of the Black Hills in search of Gold(Unabtanium.)
And countless other symbolism, like mankind's constant search for riches, even if it means destroying a culture we do not understand. The simple beauty of how James Cameron depicted this was so great, it was Disgustingly beautiful. Haha. We see that in this movie, a director is finally standing up and showing what we are doing. And the years he took to make this was not in vain, it is simply perfect. The only bad thing I have to say about this movie is that it has a predictable story-line. But that isn't really a bad thing, being able to know whats happening before it happens, then the movie blinds you with how it does, is simply stunning. I have never actually watched a movie(Other then Gladiator, but not nearly as much as Avatar) that touched my heart and soul so deeply. Its almost as if it IS my heart and soul captured on the movie screen. I cannot describe a word in the world to depict how much I love this movie. Hands down, head down, bowing down, the best movie. I have ever seen.

This movie is the best ever. Its my number 1 favorite movie ever an always will be. I have seen this move twice already both in 3-D. It was amazing. I really hope that when it comes out on DVD that one CD will be the movie its self the second will be in 3-D and the third will have the special features stuff on it. I am going to see this movie again in like a few days. This movie tho has nothing bad at all everything is great and amazing. The story, the effects, the characters, the music, etc. I think I saw a blog saying James will make a sequel and that will be the best ever I hope he really does, because I have so many ideas as to what may happen. Anyone want to add if so do plz.... FOR THE NA'VI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND FOR EYWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I, too, am just crazy about this movie, and have seen it three times in the past four days (twice in 3-D at a normal theater, and once at an IMAX theater, which is as much of an improvement over 3-D in a normal movie theater as 3-D is over 2-D, no kidding; if it's at all possible for you to see the film at an IMAX, I'd really urge you to do so).
But I have a question about the motivation of part of the plot: Can anyone tell me why in the last offensive there are troops on the ground? I mean, if the idea was to drop a bomb on the sacred tree, why not just do so and leave? Why land and put troops on the ground at all, where they are so endangered? It can't be that they want to push the Na'vi away from the bomb site before it explodes, because by then the Colonel is so furious that he couldn't care less how many he kills--in fact, he probably thinks the more casualties among the Na'vi, the better. Now, I'm delighted that there ARE troops on the ground, as that makes one of the most thrilling battles I've ever seen possible, but in terms of sheer motivation, of the mechanics of plot development, it makes no sense to me. So I'm sure I'm probably forgetting or misunderstanding something, and I'd be grateful if anyone could clear this up for me. Thanks, It's great to share your enthusiasm!

Hi all! Have just come from the cinema, where watched the Avatar. Well, the only thought I had going out of the ciname-hall afterwards was: "Wow I want to continue this adventure! I wanna get back to this amazing magic world... Don't want it to end..." SO, it's hard to express all the emotions I have now. It's incredible. Like a gulp, a breath of smth so clear that we just don't have on earth. So, thank's a lot to the creators, to director and actors and all the crew that made it up. As I say - Cameron does smth just ones in a 10 years, but it's a masterpiece and it's always smth new. He sees the emotions and the things so clear as they really are. And i regret that we can't fly....))) Thank you again. And what i want now much is DVD to watch the movie in original without dubbes).
