"I'm glad I found this thread. Makes me feel a little more comfortable feeling the way I do. I have seen the movie three times and may see it a fourth. I too have felt a feeling of a sorrow after seeing this movie. It has lingered for days. I almost feel out of touch with some of the people around me. My girlfriend liked the movie but does not feel the same way as I do. While I understand that Pandora doesn't exist (that we know of) I can't help but compare it to Earth as well as humans and their relationship with the Earth. Especially after seeing this movie, I have grown critical of the attitudes of people running in this rat race we call life who constantly drift further and further from our original relationship with this Earth. But I have to give myself a heavy dose of reality and just use the feelings this movie gave me to be a better, stronger person. and I have taken many more walks in the woods lately, so thats cool. "

I saw the film 2 years ago and simply stated my life changed, while I never connected to fantasy aspects of the film its mirror connections to the real world issues where very strong and even today I simply dont look at day to day life and the natural world in the same light out of intrest I decided to research Avatars connections and found just how much work went into the films spiritual and cultural links running under avatars fantasy shell they are very well researched and presented Simply stated "Avatar is a Mirror" look at at ourselves. and its not suprising many did not like what they saw.

Last Shadow is like a Phonex raising from the ashes. Jake entering his Avatar body for the 1st time represents freedom from old connections, confinements, and attachments. Wow this site is slow someone forget to shovel some coal into the server this morning, Yes of course there are a lot of connections in Avatar and everyone sees the film from there perspective , many as well as me commit on how strongly it made them feel about freedom and social justice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIsjtncKp0Y I have been trying to bulid a tree of connections to symboligy in the film and how people relate to it ,in understanding how the films story engine works, cultural connections alone fill a whole page I have an honest beleaf Cameron also Mirrored real world conflicts and looked at what people felt was missing in todays sociaty I feel avatar and understanding how its toolset works may hold key at least in part to bringing awareness to very real isues we all face , Nature of things David Suzuki is trying this in his documentarys and has seen some very impressive results in how people relate and understand the world by understanding its connections at an emotional; level.

Weaver played botanist Grace Augustine. Her character was fatally wounded in a climactic battle, but the actress said director James Cameron had told her "no one ever dies in science fiction". "He's told me the stories for the next two movies and I have to say that they're absolutely wonderful," she added. "Now we just have to make them." The original Avatar, which told the story of humans mining an alien planet for reserves of the improbably-named mineral Unobtanium, is the highest-grossing movie of all time.

Director Cameron promised to turn the story into a trilogy if box office receipts reached $1bn (£633m).

Work on the scripts has begun but, as yet, there is no filming schedule.

When shooting commences, Avatar 2 and 3 will be made back-to-back, with months of post-production to create the computer-generated alien world of Pandora.

Speaking on the red carpet at the 2010 Oscars, Cameron admitted: "If I were to start Avatar 2 tomorrow, it would still be three years away".

He later confirmed that the first possible release date for the sequel was Christmas 2014.

"The boss, Jim Cameron, he's not just going to make it for the sake of it," actor Sam Worthington told Radio 1 Newsbeat last year.

"He always wants the challenge, he always wants to push the envelope and raise the bar and I think audiences will demand that of Avatar 2.

"When he finds the challenge that's when we go back to work."
