Did James Cameron accept money from the tobacco industry in order to have Sigourney Weaver smoke in his movie? It is pathetic to see gratuitous smoking in movies. I am disappointed in James and Sigourney. This has got to stop.

From what we know about Avatar 2 we know it will envolve in some way the oceans on pandora but this does not mean that it will be an underwater film as a whole We know filming has been delayed by the earthquake activity and we know James Cameron is developing a Sub to film in one of deapest locations on earth and that film taken from the depths will in some way be used in the film and that many of the actors in the first film will return,

Read about James Cameron’s most recent record-breaking dive in his own words as expressed in a personal email he wrote to Don Walsh, co-pilot of the bathyscaphe Trieste: http://deepseachallenge.com/latest-news/cameron-to-walsh-on-record-8k-dive-youd-have-loved-it/ Follow along: @DeepChallenge March 7, 2012 Don, The 8000m dive went very well. Not an unqualified success…But overall the vehicle performed like a champ…I lost comms completely… Sitting down there at 27000′, alone in the dark, with no comms, no contact whatsoever with the world so far above, and nothing but the ingenuity of the engineering to get me back… it’s simultaneously scary and exhilarating. It’s the precipice we put ourselves on by choice, to test ourselves and our machines…I was just sitting there in the dark listening and feeling the sub. It was fascinating to imagine 8 kilometers of water speeding by vertically. [As I ascended] I imagined the pressure coming off slowly as the ocean loosened its iron fisted grip. You’d have loved it. More to come… See you in Guam. JC

Hi there,
I'm new to this site, and to be honest you won't see much from me until the new Avatar films come out and I have some new material to work with. I produce pronunciation videos using sound clips made from audio recorded from film and TV. I have a channel on YouTube, which I know sounds kinda boring but the videos I create are mostly intended to be comical, while some are informative. It's not just pronunciations but also a description of the word or phrase. One of my recent projects was to produce a series of pronunciation videos based on a particular franchise and Avatar, with it's fictitious lore and language, seemed the ideal fit. The videos are available on my YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/PronunciationTVGuide) and I've uploaded them on to the video section of this website. The videos have been put into collections which represent things such as language, titles and names, species and race, and places and phenomenon. I watched the extended DVD edition of Avatar noting the timestamp that a particular word or phrase occurred, and then I went back to those time stamps and using a piece of software I was able to capture the audio from the movie. I also used a piece of software to capture screen shots. The audio was then trimmed down into sound clips, which were exported into Windows Movie Maker, along with the screen shots and background images (which were edited in Microsoft Word and Paint) to produce the final pronunciation videos. Please have a look at the videos and let me know what you think. Some are quite unexciting, but others are more interesting to watch. |

I like this movie very much because it has been produced scientifically and most I like that is adventurous. The character I like most that is Neytiri... a very sweet girl. I am in love her. I will be lucky if I would know her real name and real picture.
Neytiri..... If possible please come into my dream. I love so much....

I remember watching it for the first time a week and a half ago, and the sorrow was overwhelming. My Sis and I were discussing about the film after we walked out of the cinema, describing how it was beautiful and moving. After that day, my Sister had moved on, the feeling had left her, whereas for me, it was still there inside of me, my heart feeling heavier than ever... I couldn't help but watch this film again, and so I did... a few more times. The heavy hearted feeling still hasn't fully disappeared, some of it is still there inside of me, but I am coping with it much better now than earlier today. I guess this feeling of sorrow has to do with some of the things involved with the film, for example, the reviews. The reviews bug me because they all state the same thing, never mentioning the emotional experience we receive during and after the film ends. The response from the public is mostly positive, but there is no sign of, "Wow, I was moved after watching that...". It's all "The CGI was amazing, the action was cool." I don't want to hear any of that, sure, they are positive, but what about the experience Cameron intended for us... The experience was great because the visuals were stunning, but I'm talking about experiencing the movie as a whole...experiencing the joy, anger, laughter and sorrow the film presents to us. Anyway, did anybody feel anything after leaving the cinema from watching Avatar? If so, how long did this feeling last within you?

This video speaks of the sacred connections the Na'Vi people have to there world and all life on it , its an example , and for the the most part correct there are some areas that need improvement , "all the sky people can not see" , the science team on pandora lead by Grace is far from being blind and at least has a base understanding of how the NaVi see there world , the rest of the humans there have been "blinded" by greed and ego, Second issue , the human consciousness is transfered to the Avatar , should be The human through advanced technoligy "drives" the avatar remotly, only the Goddess Eywa can physically transfer consciousness form one host to another ,in James Camerons world , The Na'Vi connect to the creatures, there ansestors , and soul mate , by means of a queue that extends from there brain stem and exits the back of there skull where one would wear a pony tail , called "tsahaylu" which means "The bond" its a neuro link not telepathic . the queue does not father children directly the Na'Vi have secondary sex organs like normal mamuals. before people make jokes about my desicription , I add "The Na'Vi are of course a Work of Fiction.but cross connect to many things we relate to.

I see some examples I aggre with and some I feel are untrue , one is the subject of race on this issue I think people are reading too much into what others have said, I have never found the film racest and think the film would work no mater what race was shown (the navi avatars themselves are raceless and realy cant be labeled such) , The second is Calling the Navi "Alien" I feel its the other way around as we are the guests on there world, and by "example" its the NaVi that give "Us" The Alien "Label" the Leader of the Navi Clan uses this example when jake is introduced (His alien smell fills my nose) the man machiene refrence compares the "avatar link" to a video game experence , this technoligy simply does not exsist in this time and video games are only a one way conection and shallow experence compared to a true 2 way nero-link that jake experences driving the avatar the, film does use a lot of Clichés and has a very predictable story line so it does have its shortcomings but they have not made the "perfect" movie yet .

From what I've read the sequel is supposed to be based around an aquatic/ocean environment on Pandora. J.C. is having a submarine built capable of diving to the bottom of the Marianas Trench how the deep oceans of Pandora will get worked into the plot I don't know, any ideas? I am a bit concerned about how that would play out in the sequel, the idea of a Pandoran version of Atlantis with water breathing Na'Vi just seems like a stretch.. Think the coastal dwelling Na'Vi " the Akan? people of the eastern sea" will be the "site" of the sequel? Or possibly a more "south pacific" setting? Will the Na'Vi use boats at all? I was thinking of the catamarans used in Tahittii & all through the South Pacific or will they ride some sort of sea creature? What kind? A pandoran version of a dolfin or sea lion? What was that long necked ocean going dinosaur called? Plesiosaurus? A Pandoran version of that would be quite the ride I guess Kevin Costner's "Water World" has me a little nervous, what a debacle. What was he thinking? I never have watched the whole thing it was just too ridiculous.

I tried to register on this site http://www.avatar-forums.com/forum.php . During the registration proccess they ask you to answer a random question that is mandatory to answer in order to register on the site it's : "What country is the primary directory of Avatar from? I have no idea what the answer is. I've tried Australia, New Zeland, USA. Can't find even a clue on the site what the answer is, I tried contacting the site admin but they ask the same damn question to send him an e-mail... Anyone have any ideas what the answer is?
