A once in a lifetime experience
Jan 4 2010, 1:25 AM EST
We'll actually i have experienced it three times now, but i can honestly say that i have never felt such an overwhelming feeling of happiness and sadness while leaving Imax 3D. I was so happy to have been able to experience yet so sad that i had to leave my new home, or at least thats what it felt like. I love that movie.Hands down The best i have ever seen.

"I feel the same way. After leaving the cinema, reality kicked in-Pandora isn't real. I truly did live in Pandora for two and a half hours, and I experienced the joy, laughter, sorrow and anger the film presented to us. It annoys me that many of the reviews state that, although the film's special effects are amazing, the plot and the characters really need some development. Before I saw the film, I knew what was going to happen, it WAS obvious, but everything changes once you actually watch the film, you are immersed into this environment and you feel for the characters. This film is so unique, I can't believe it has made such a huge impact on me. Peace! Do you find this valuable? |

I think it's likely that people with a richer imagination will tend to love this movie whereas the dull critical people will pick it apart or fail to be drawn in. The second time I went, my brother (for his second viewing as well) and two friends also came to the theatre. Now afterward I asked them what they thought about it and they both responded "Meh, it was good." "I liked it, it was ok". Now though these are both positive reviews, they don't sound like what our category of people who "experienced" Pandora have been saying. A few facts about them, they are both of the most boring dull people I know, great friends, but very dull. Neither are artistically creative or outgoing in any sense. So when I read negative reviews of this Marvel of a film, I just feel sorry for the critics, because they weren't ABLE to feel it like we did. Do you find this valuable? |

It's funny because I just completed a review on imdb.com which touched on the same thing. In my review, I talk about the two main viewpoints when watching this film-1) you observe and focus the ups and downs of the film (like a reviewer) 2) you don't observe and focus, you just watch and 'live' it. I mention in my review that if you want to experience the film in its entirety, you MUST leave behind the ready and prepared scrutiny. I'm glad that I have been posting on boards such as these because it brings those who experienced the same feelings to share it together... Do you find this valuable? |

I completely agree with both of you, for those of us with a rich imagination will love this film and those without will read into it to much, and wont take as much away from the experience. Im pretty sure im going to go see it again this week, this is random but do you think they have an iphone app. for Avatar, they have a application you can download to your computer, its called adobe air i think, and it allows you to stay completely in touch with avatar and pandora, you should check it out, its pretty sweet.

What are the features? I don't have an iPhone, but I'm curious as to what this application will offer... Anyway, nice that you're going to keep in touch with the film, it's an experience unlike no other, and you want to remember that experience, so you try and keep in touch with the movie as much as possible... I'ma watch it a 3rd time possibly today (cheap Tuesday, plus I checked the seats that were available at 7:30 and it is pretty packed...), or Friday. Do you find this valuable? |

I love it. Hope this movie just keeps on rolling, I'm sure it will. I've seen it twice so far. Saw it for the second time on Thursday at 3:10 p.m. and it was packed!! I had to stand in (the front) line for 40 minutes. Thats crazy, where some people were getting their drink on, here we were a few hundred people getting our Na'vi on! If I wake up as Jake Sully, I'm in heaven.

You know what, I totally disagree with the once in a lifetime experience thing. I know, I know, you'll be angry but hear me.... Because I've experience the movie 5 times already! And all in 3D!!! So thats, a 5 time in a life experience!!! This time around, I tried to focus more on the environements of Pandora, instead of on the characters, *trying to find anything weird, irregular, but I couldn't find any. In fact, the movie was still as fresh as ever. Btw... I can't wait for my 6th 'once in a lifetime experience'... \m/ Do you find this valuable? |

I have to disagree with you Zahelu. Nothing can beat the first time seeing this in theather, everything is new and fascinating. That still won't extinguish the experience itself, but it can't never reach the first time. First time is just a tiny bit better than all other rounds. Do you find this valuable? |

"I have to disagree with you Zahelu. Nothing can beat the first time seeing this in theather, everything is new and fascinating.Yeah, first time is hardest... In terms of my emotions, I am feeling much better today, which I am upset about. I would like this feeling of sorrow to return to me because it reminded me of the meaningful things in life, it also helped me change as a person. Now, I am back to my old self, and I am not pleased. I'ma watch the film again tomorrow, and hopefully this feeling of sorrow will return... but then again, what's the point? It's going to subside sometime eventually... Well, at least I get to experience it one more time before Avatar leaves the big screen. PS. Keep sharing the thoughts and feelings! Our knowledge fills and we gain much more understanding and perspective from one another ;) Do you find this valuable? |

I can't wait to see it in IMAX 3D and to own it on Blu-ray hopefully also in 3D. I found a clip on youtube of the part where Jake makes the bond with his Ikran. Still gives me shivers. Watch it in HD, here's the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyavzcNcB3w Do you find this valuable? |

I can say for one, In the summer I will walk around in a home made avatar outfit and I will put my body head to toe in blue make up and a wig! I can honestly say this movie changed my life and so many ways. I dont believe in the world Fake anymore. I believe that out there there is a world called pandora and the Na'vi do exist. Hands down best movie ever!
