it is a very good point i have also wondered about it to. however i have come to the conclusion that by teaching jake their ways they learn his ways just by the way he learns. olo'eyktan could also have meant by studying him they were going to teach him if you see what i mean it is quite hard to put it in words but i hope u see what i meant.hope this helps. :) Do you find this valuable?

Have you done any research srinaz? The Avatarwiki clearly states "Unobtanium is not only the key to Earth’s energy needs in the 22nd century, but it is the enabler of interstellar travel and the establishment of a truly spacefaring civilization." Since "Interstellar starships such as the ISV Venture Star require unobtanium in their manufacture, due to unobtanium's role in providing containment for antimatter-matter reactions." Also Unobtaniums role in the development of antimatter reactors makes it a necessity. So again Jake Sullys actions are not heroic but selfish. He's safely on Pandora having the time of his life and has the Chiefs daughter as a girlfriend to boot. What does he care that 20 Billion people on Earth are dying. A hero would have found a way for humans to get what they need to live and still protect the natives from abuse. The fact that the natives don't know or care why humans are on Pandora is odd. How can they not know? Did Dr. Grace Augustine intentionally keep the natives in the dark? Why?

This is a fictional sci fi drama & it has a lot of messages about how we need to take care of our planet, so this kind of thing does NOT ever happen to us, period. And at the rate we are going right now, we will destroy ourselves before we even have the chance to find a way to save it anyway. Jake made a moral judgement according to what he believed was right.The corporation was so far in the wrong on so many things it shouldn't really be a hard choice for anyone who still has a working moral compass.Poor choices by the people of earth in the film do not justify the genocide of another species or the destruction of the ecosphere and should be opposed by anyone who claim to be able to distinguish right from wrong.Being true to one's own heart is the highest form of loyalty and Jake displayed that in spades.

The company developed the Avatar program and sent Dr. Augustine to Pandora for the purpose of talking to the natives and getting a mining contract with them. That she had her own agenda and did not do her job is why she's a villian too. As far as the claim of Genocide goes, where do you see that? Humanity is not trying to kill off the natives so that claim is nonsense. As the Vulcans say " The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few..."

He is a trator to the human race!"I feel Avatar is one very few films to display true "cause and effect" other films like Dances with wolves and Pocahontas (which are very powerfull example films in there own right) address issues that happened in our "past" many people assume wrongly that those issues "No longer apply" in todays world , because Avatar takes place in the "future" one can assume its a "symbolic" warning to the path we are headed down, Ask any climate scientist or human rights activist if the if the issues shown in the film are "real" and they all will likely aggre , Jake is a symbol and example of a wounded war vet who beleaved that Virtue and basic humantarian rights overrides any order handed down the chain of command his past experences in life have shown him how inhuman some of us can be and he chose to take a stand aganst the "corporate" mentality that ordered him to take an action he considered moraly wrong, Its a simple question , How would you feel if an armed group of outsiders came to your home and decided that they where going to force you out and bulldose it flat, oh' and the land you considered sacred that enabled your family to survive was now theres, well I know how most people here would react , there would probbly be an armed standoff, that situation is exactly what happend to the real Dongria Kondh tribe in india and its quite likely symbolic awareness raised by avatar gave them a voice in there fight aganst the corporation that was just going to "take" there land if intrested simply search on youtube "mine sacred mountain" Do you find this valuable? |
