victoryblade	Avatar to be re-released? Enhanced? Mar 12 2010, 2:43 PM EST I just found out earlier today that Fox studios may re-release Avatar sometime in the summer or fall of this year. But wait, there's more! This will be a director's cut version with at least 10 extra minutes of additional scenes. If that does happen, Avatar will surpass the $3 billion mark for sure! The question is, will it only be available in 3-D? IMAX allows a limit of 170 minutes on its movies. Avatar is already 160 minutes. We can more or less forget about 2-D. But don't rule that out just yet. Mar 12 2010, 4:01 PM EST oh, i certainly hope it's re-released...after all, Titanic was, and Avatar is so much better (i love titanic, but avatar is just....oh, i don't even need to explain to you all). i'm so sick of trying to find bootleg versions on the internet...in all the good ones i've found recently, the sound is off from the picture, and it just gets worse as the movie progresses. i try to ignore it, but it's just so distracting. Mar 12 2010, 5:11 PM EST Thanks victoryblade for the new info, makes me feel better knowing we have a good shot at it being re-released later this year on the IMAX. I had read somewhere a few weeks ago that JC had mentioned he would think about doing just that, but I hadn't heard any more about it since then until now. I just don't like the idea that the initial 2D DVD release may be put off if the re-release of the movie comes about in the fall. I understand, but I don't have to like it. I think they know us rabid fans will have a conniption fit & may storm Hell's Gate if they don't! >;-) Since he posted this earlier today, I have now seen this info ALL over the internet & there have been no reports that I have found yet that say it won't be released on April 22nd like we heard a couple of weeks ago. I just watched that whole video of him in that interview. It was obviously done before the Oscars since he talked about who might win, but all we can do is hope that they will do the right thing & give us a decent DVD asap & an extended cut with extras for Christmas maybe. I will be at the theater again though if they do re-release it either at the IMAX or regular 3D. I really miss seeing it & may go see it again this weekend on regular 3D.
