Avatar sequel details revealed
Apr 22 2010, 5:31 PM EDT
Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I visited this site but I just found a new story about the sequel to Avatar. According to James Cameron, we will be taken underwater and shown whatever wonders lie beneath the surface of Pandora. But don't worry! We will still get to see more of the lush beauty of Pandora's land too! Cameron also said the third film will show us the other moons of Polyphemus and the rest of the Alpha Centauri system. Don't know how long we'll have to wait for that one. Here's the link to the story:http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk-avatar-2-the-abyss.html P.S. Happy Earth Day! Do you find this valuable?

I wore my Na'Vi blue & also wore some green today & tried to get out to do what I could for our "Mother", but was stuck mostly working all day inside. Anyway, I loved that information on the sequel. It makes it sound like it will be well worth the wait, but I am hoping we don't have to wait TOO long for the 2nd movie. I know the 3rd one will be quite a long wait from now, but that's OK. I just want to be able to see both in my lifetime!!! >;-) Do you find this valuable? |

Nice find man, I was really looking for something that confirmed a sequel and this pretty much sums it up. The talk of a THIRD movie also sounds pretty cool.

Well we've been given hopes of a story arc that spans a trilogy, and it's great that the rumours are living up to its hype.I don't know how they're gonna adapt to the underwater life, unless Na'vi people are able to breathe underwater (gills???), but I'll leave this problem for JC to solve. I guess we'll find out soon. ANd by soon, that's roughly.. 2-3 years? End of 2013 we see it in theatres? Do you find this valuable? |

"Well we've been given hopes of a story arc that spans a trilogy, and it's great that the rumours are living up to its hype. There was a scene where it showed Jake and Neytiri swimming underwater when Jake was learning they're ways. It might be possible that they can breath underwater but I don't know, your right we'll have to wait and see. Do you find this valuable? |

That's exciting. i remember when Jake jumps off of the cliff into the stream/river away from the thanator thinking he may not be better off. If Pnadora is similar to Earth, the biggest and scariest animals must be in there waters as well.

"Oooh, and I'm imagining those fishes having those neurals which a Na'vi can then Tsa'haylu."that would be wild, but breathing under water would still hard to imagine. Perhaps RDA sets up mining rigs offshore instead of confronting the Navi from land and the forest? RDA uses oceanic ships as their base of operations, but the Navi discover a untapped resource in the creatures of the sea? I like the sounds of that! Do you find this valuable? |

I can't wait to see what JC comes up with for an underwater environment on Pandora. It boggles the mind what the creatures will look like and how they'll interact.

"I can't wait to see what JC comes up with for an underwater environment on Pandora. It boggles the mind what the creatures will look like and how they'll interact."You already have an idea from the land scenery. Some of what was on land was adapted if not copied directly from underwater scenery in the tropics right here on good old planet earth. Many of the items were much bigger than the original underwater flora. There is enough that Cameron didn't use to create equally amazing underwater scenes in a sequel. If you ever get a chance to dive in Fiji or Palau or the Marshall's - you will recognize not only the originals but some of the color combinations he used. As for the trees, do a Google search on New Zealand kauri. New Zealand has some amazingly giant ferns as well. Pandora is fantastic, but there is some pretty wonderful stuff on this planet, too. "I can't wait to see what JC comes up with for an underwater environment on Pandora. It boggles the mind what the creatures will look like and how they'll interact."Yeah, me too Darkah. I have a feeling we will see some similar things to what he did in The Abyss. If any of you guys have never seen that movie, I highly suggest it. JC has said numerous times in interviews how obsessed he is with our oceans & underwater life. Check it out if you haven't seen it, I loved that movie when it first came out & still love watching it to this day. He did some really cool things for it's time, (1989), Also, he did Aliens of the Deep a few years ago, a documentary about the weird life in our oceans. I wouldn't doubt it if he patterns some of the Pandoran oceanic life after that. He actually patterned some of the plant life in Avatar after some that exist here on Earth. At any rate, I know I will be very impatient waiting for the sequel & will be very excited to see whatever he comes up with! The man's a genius, imho. Do you find this valuable? |
