Jul 8 2010, 7:29 PM EDT \| Post edited: Jul 8 2010, 7:29 PM EDT I saw the official news today that it will definitely be re-released on the IMAX in 3D on August 27th. It did not say for sure where it would be released though, they are only saying at this time it will be in several hundred theaters domestically. Sorry overseas fans. Maybe they will go ahead & re-release it overseas too if they sell out domestically & I would bet they do. It will also have 8 extra minutes put back in of deleted scenes. Hope we get the best of them since that is not very much. They are supposed to be working on the next DVD release for November that should have the ability to see 40 extra minutes or so. Hi Darkah, the article did say it would also be released on regular 3D screens, but no info about 2D. I imagine they only want to release it again in 3D due to the extra money for it. Do you have a regular 3D screen at your local theater? I am so excited about seeing it this way again. If I hear any more about it, I will be sure & let you know. Hope everything is going well up your way these days. I am still wondering what happened to Owlshaman. I know that if he is OK, he should be on his vacation western walkabout, so I am just keeping him in my thoughts & prayers still & hope we hear from him sooner or later. Well, actually it wouldn't make any difference to me if they didn't add back in any deleted scenes, I would STILL pay to see it again on the IMAX or reg 3D screen. That is the BEST way to see it in my opinion & I have a blu ray & 65" HD TV. Avatar is gorgeous on my TV, but it just does not quite fill the bill the way it looks on that humongous screen. I would pay to see it that way several more times, & maybe that sounds silly to some, but I dearly love the movie & never ever get tired of one minute of it. To each his own... I just hope it plays near me, but I will travel if necessary. But read somewhere where it would only be out for 2 weeks. I hope they extend it longer.
