Are there groups going to watch the re release??
Aug 18 2010, 12:03 AM EDT | Post edited: Aug 18 2010, 12:03 AM EDT
I'm one of the many who have seen the movie countless times in theatres, but also one of the few who have yet to see it in 3D. So as you can guess, I've been eagerly anticipating the rerelase! I'm just wondering if there are any groups of people who live in the same region going in groups to watch it?

I'm a southern Cali resident and think it would be awesome to see it with avid followers! My friends all roll their eyes when I fist pump to the tune of na'vi music haha

Sooooo yeah, anyone? Heh

It's great that you're anticipating the 3D version of the movie. It's astoundingly awesome! The re-release is a great 'escape' for us all ain't it so? Yeah, we're visiting Pandora again! Do you find this valuable?

I absolutely cannot wait for it. I'm amped amped amped.

But, it's crappy that no one is grouping up for this. It's a big deal. I'm going with a group of 20 for this, and the traffic on here doesn't seem like it's of much importance.

Let's bring back the enthusiasm people! Heh

I think and hope that you'll see more traffic on here after it's re-released and people have had a chance to see it, some for the first time. Do you find this valuable?

" some for the first time.

Like a Virgin! Watched for the very first time! Like a Viririrrrrrgin! Oohhh!
Gonna go watch Avatar on Imax this week, my first time in an Imax theater! Never been to an Imax before, The one up here just opened a couple of months ago after the initial release of Avatar. WooHoo! This will be my fourth time seeing Avatar at the theater, a first for me. I've never gone to a theater to see a movie even twice before Avatar...
I'm sort of a "closet" Avatar fan, none of my friends or my wife realy understand my intrest in sci fi in general or Avatar in particular so I don't bother discussing it with them. So I'll just go by myself, sniff...no one to share the popcorn with, ah well it's all mine! Buwahahaha!

Hi All!
I had been unemployed for a long time and haven't been able to go see the re-release as yet but I just started a new job last week and will be able to see it on Friday. Unfortunately I don't have an Imax anywhere close to see it on. It will have to be 3-D. I can't wait!!! I'll definitely let you know my impressions of the extra scenes. If they release this version on dvd I'll definitely buy it.

Thanks AkGeff, it's been far too long since I had regular employment and it feels great to be back to work. I can't wait to see AVATAR on the big screen again. Do you find this valuable?

I figured out a way to get paid to breathe, but it took me 28yrs. to do it... Weather isn't as crapy as I'd hoped but I'm going to the Imax today anyway. Not sure how long the re-release will run and I don't know when I'll get another chance to see it. Still have a lot to do to get ready for winter, I can smell it... Seems like thats all I do up here is spend the whole summer preparing for the next winter. Hi Ho. Do you find this valuable?

Hey you guys, I missed this thread originally. I keep posting once in a while on the sorrow thread. Congrats, Darkah on the new job! So glad to hear that! So, how did you guys like the re-release? I loved it. I would have loved even more added back in, but of course they couldn't, so I will get that with the new extended collector's edition of the blu-ray in November.
Adam, I wish we all could have seen this together, but I am alone here in Houston, it seems & I couldn't afford to fly across country to see it, but I would have in a heartbeat if I could have. How did you like it on the IMAX? Unfortunately they didn't show it on my IMAX here, but I still went to see it twice by myself here, & the 2nd time, I noticed a guy that was alone that stayed to the very last note played in the end credit music, like me. I highly suspected he was another one like us, but I didn't get a chance to ask him. It would be nice to find others like me here in my city. As huge as Houston is, you would think that wouldn't be hard to do. But so far, nothing. I am just so glad that at least I have my online Avatar family & friends here! >;-)
AkGeff, hope you have been really enjoying your summer up there. I know you don't have much warm time left now. It will be cold & dark before you know it! I still intend to come to Alaska some day. I hope to within the next couple of years, so I will definitely look you & your family up if & when I get to.

Hi Vanessa, Darkah, everyone! Sorry I havn't posted for a while been trying to get things wraped up for winter. Still no snow yet and it has only started to frost in the mornings, very warm for up here. That is a trend I have noticed over the last 40 yrs. Most of the glaciers around Anchorage are about half the size they were when I moved up here. That is uber fast for a glacier to change that much in such a short time. ..
I only got to see Avatar on IMAX once during the re-release, I enjoyed it very much although after watching the "orginal" version 4 or 5 times (a record for me) it was rather hmm disconcerting watching the extended version. The extra scenes were interesting but they raised as many questions as they answered. For some reason I had thought they were just going to add one contiguous 8 minute long scene to the movie.. It's amazing how much extra content you can cram into 8 minutes..
Vanessa, Darkah come on up when you can. I have a 4 bedroom house in "Los Anchorage" so there's plenty of room. Don't worry you won't have to chop wood or use an out house, I live in the big city. What do you guys like to do? Hiking? Rafting? Fishing? How about a grizzly bear hunt with bow and arrow? Make ya feel just like your on Pandora... My best bud just bought a new sailboat! Woo Hoo! I'm sure I can arrange to take you on a sailing trip of P.W.S. (Prince William Sound) . Check it out on google earth. We would leave from the port of Whittier.

Hi Vanessa and all! I never got to see the re-release. It was only at a local theater for two weeks and I wasn't able to clear time and money to see it. I wish there was some way to see it. I'll have to get the blu-ray when it comes out and hope to be able to play it on someone else's blu-ray machine.
Glad to see all the new and old timers still posting at this site.
Good weekend to all!
