Indigenous peoples from across North America are against what is happening to the people in Alberta, Canada at the TarSands.
As mentioned before, and as you probably followed, Cameron visited the area and noted the necessity of oil and the horrendous cost of this need.
Work being done by communities from Alberta down to Texas is becoming visible. Take a look at the groups resisting the transport of the mining machines
that were the basis of the ones in Avatar. http://allagainstthehaul.org/
