Allrock	How can we improve and update the site ? Jul 16 2011, 12:28 AM EDT simply how can we as a group improve the site which is quite out of date as of this writing, should we include more info on the making of the film ? how for some it deeply relates to real world issues symbolicly ? a casual visitor to the site would get the opinion that it had not been updated in a long time this is not very respectful of the creativity and man hours that went into the creative work that became a film that for some has seeded many deep questions about the direction our global humanity is heading or simply the amasing technoligy and artwork that went in to creating the film and the fan comunity still creating unique artwork.music,and animation they would like to share with others. Jul 20 2011, 12:28 AM EDT I am simply trying to save a site I feel should represent those who relate to Avatar, my web page building skills are not that strong but hopefuly as a group we can regain the site focus on the human vision that became Avatar and for those intrested the symbolic questions and real world parallel issues brought to light by the film (hopefuly without all the political bickering this usuly brings about). Aug 5 2011, 12:11 AM EDT i would love to help if your serious about relating to real world issues.. which i am sure you are.. but other sites seem more interested in action figures and sequels then the symbolic message.. which is what interests me the most.. Aug 5 2011, 9:34 AM EDT \| Post edited: Aug 5 2011, 9:34 AM EDT Because I beleve that Avatar's symboilc story was created in part to raise global awareness in the first place, and have seen direct examples of the film doing so (the Dongria Kondh tribe in india being one example) simply search "mine sacred mountain" on youtube, and of course awareness going back well before the film was released I feal that "real" world global issues symbolicly related to the films story are very important. I see avatar as an awareness building "seed" and powerfull fantasy example of many very serious global issues that both the main stream media and general public seem to ignore . understanding the mechnisum underlying this problem and why people are acting in this mannor is very important reducing world conflict and suffering. Aug 5 2011, 10:19 AM EDT i feel the same way.. i believe the vast majority of the world intuitively knows the message is true for them on some level and identify with the film because of it.. and it is ''an opportunity both timely and unique"".. to empower people on a grassroots level worldwide.. what an i do to help you? just post a lot? Aug 8 2011, 10:59 AM EDT it is posabe to link to videos on youtube etc, simply go to the videos link at the top of the page and select add a video (will only work if you are signed in) as far as uploading directly the host "wetpaint" does not offer this feature as far as I know, I would also like to get videos from the video area to appear on the homepage and change everyday and there is a tool to do ths but the videos must be featured and I dont have admin privlages to do so. Sep 4 2011, 11:31 PM EDT I aggre , trying to implement them using the site building tools will be a challenge I am looking into it, because I am not the site creator there are some simple tasks that I dont have admin abilty to do, I also tryed to start a thread (which visitors must be aware of to find) related to global issues related to avatar but have had little intrest so far. I would also like to see the homepage with a more simple focus placing fan artwork on a secondery page.(or rotating fan art every week) I have also put a few videos relating to avatar and global issues in the video area for those intrested and am looking for more. Been on horse back all summer. No where near a computer. I hope all is well with everyone. The reality of exploitation and disstruction of indiginous cutlers still persist. Not much can be done to "Improve" the site here. Avatar is alost two Winters Old. As with all movies Avatar will only pass on. Post reply Do you find this valuable?

Sep 12 2011, 10:12 AM EDT While the hype for Avatar has mosly passed , people still relate quite strongly to many of the issues addressed in the film and as we all know there are plenty of very real global issues that mirror Avatars story , Avatar is one of a few rare films that has spawned real world change and many people comit on how strongly it has made them "question" our direction in the world, In a age where negitivity drives the everyday news where our children are taught to "fear" strangers, seeing positive change is very important, The story telling tools the film uses (using a fantasy example to put us in the shoes of "another" and, the fact the "another" is a race we cant slap a label on from past history is also a plus. To view ourselves from that viewpoint and to directly see the""Mechanism" of war in action, the fact the film takes place in a future time period also helps as we cant label it an event from the past )This can be a very powerfull tool for change in the world today. to say these tools are important is an understatment and understanding how they work having seen first hand the results of ego and greed on todays world (we work with refuges) is one reason I have so much respect for what James Cameron is trying to do.
